Optic Fiber Application
Detailed Product Description
Optic Fiber Application
1. Technical requirements
a) Voltage of the light source and emission part: DC 3V
b) Voltage of the receiver: DC 4.5V
c) Maximum out power of the receiver greater than 0.25W
3. How to use
a) Demonstration of light transmission
Insert one of the bent organic glass rod into the hole of the light source seat and place a sheet of white paper in front of the other end. Switch on the light power to observe the visible light being transmitted from one end to the other alongside the bent organic glass rod. This experiment is devised with demonstrate the light transmission principle of optic fibers.
b) Demonstration of image transmission
Insert the alphabet plate on the light source seat and insert one end of the optic fiber bunch into the hole of the light source seat, making it close to the alphabet plate. Switch on the light source and the image (alphabet) transmitted from the other end of the optic fiber can be seen. Move the alphabet plate away and make the image complete. If the other end of the optic fiber bunch is inserted into the magnifying slot, an enlarged image can be observed on the screen.
c) Demonstration of communication
Insert the two ends of the optic fiber into two holes of input and output. Toggle the music/exterior connection switch to music. Switch on the power for the emitter and receiver. Music then comes out from the loudspeaker of the receiver. If either end of the optic fiber is pulled out from the hole, the optic transmission is terminated and the music stops, which is evidence that the musical signals are transmitted through the optic fiber. If the same switch is toggled to exterior connection and signals are fed in through the exterior hole, the receiver can pick up sounds from outside.
2. Notes
a) Attention shall be paid to avoid the abrasion on both ends of the optic fiber during the use of the instrument. The emitters on both ends as well as the input and output holes and other optical components shall be kept away from grease or other chemicals. If dust exists, use a soft brush to remove it. Never use chemical dissolvent such as alcohol to clean any part of the instrument.
b) The optical fiber bunch used in this instrument is made of plastic. So when using and storing the instrument, high temperature shall be avoided and experiment period for image transmission shall not be too long.
c) Take out the batteries from the battery box if the instrument is to be kept no use for a long time.s
